This Moody Fall Wedding Brought All the Drama

There’s something magical about designing for a bride who knows exactly the feeling she wants to create. For Muizza, it was all about drama, depth, and a moody fall vibe—something romantic, nostalgic, and straight out of a storybook.

Held in October at Ashyana Banquets in Downer's Grove, IL, Irfaan & Muizza’s Valima was a celebration wrapped in warmth and rich, cinematic tones. From the very first conversation, Muizza dreamed of a design that channeled fall colors—but elevated, magical, and unforgettable. We ran with that vision, crafting a space layered with texture, candlelight, and bold florals that felt like stepping into a romantic novel.

We designed a dramatic floral arch filled with crawling vine branches, lush greenery, and blooms in deep burgundy, rust, soft blush, and peach. To ground the entire design and amplify the moodiness, we went bold with a black stage backdrop and black linens—choices that instantly deepened the ambiance and allowed the florals and candlelight to truly glow. It was wild yet intentional—giving the stage an enchanted, storybook feel perfect for October’s golden tones.

Tables were styled with clusters of taper candles in tall gold stands and low floral runners for balance. Flickering candlelight at varying heights created dimension and intimacy, while floating tea lights and votives filled the space with a soft, magical glow.

And then there was the bride—Muizza in her rich burgundy velvet ensemble, styled by Mohsin Naveed Ranjha, with a timeless glam look by Nadia Tikki. She exuded 1950s vintage glamour, bringing the entire design to life in the most cinematic way.

From the dramatic palette to the editorial energy, Irfaan & Muizza’s Valima wasn’t just a wedding—it was a moody floral fairytale, wrapped in nostalgia and lit by candlelight. A love story told through design that will stay with us forever.
