For Insia & Waleed’s Mehndi at Wildman BT, the vision centered around something playful, colorful, and full of movement while still feeling elevated and intentional. The goal wasn’t simply to create a beautiful setup. It was to design an atmosphere that felt energetic, welcoming, and deeply reflective of the couple themselves.

Designing a Mehndi Full of Color and Movement

One of the defining elements of this Mehndi celebration was the use of color throughout the entire space. Rather than relying on a single focal point, the design was intentionally layered from ceiling to floor to create a fully immersive guest experience. To achieve this, we:

• Installed vibrant draping throughout the ballroom to soften and transform the space

• Incorporated suspended umbrella installations and tassel details to add movement overhead

• Used bold florals and layered textiles to bring warmth and texture into the design

• Added a custom-patterned dance floor to anchor the center of the celebration

This approach allowed the room to feel playful and energetic without losing the elevated feel that defines luxury South Asian wedding decor. For Mehndi celebrations, especially, movement and atmosphere are just as important as the decor itself.

A Statement Mehndi Stage with Layered Detail

The Mehndi stage served as one of the central focal points of the evening, designed to feel vibrant, dimensional, and welcoming from every angle. We balanced bold color with softer texture through:

• A carved swing installation that anchored the stage design

• Layered florals in warm, saturated tones for depth and visual movement

• Lantern accents and candlelight to create warmth throughout the space

• Rich textiles and draping details to soften the overall structure

While the design embraced traditional Mehndi elements, the overall styling still felt refined and intentional. This balance between playful celebration and elevated design is what makes a Mehndi feel immersive rather than overly themed.

The result was a South Asian Mehndi stage design that photographed beautifully while still feeling warm and inviting in person.
